Payments:
Payments can be made in Pounds Sterling, Euros, US Dollars or other currencies. All payments are made either in advance, part payment in advance with balance on completion, or by stage payment. Please do not ask for credit as a refusal often offends. (Note: In certain cases limited roughs might be provided for approval without charge - please ask for details).
Invoicing & transfers:
Payments can be made via bank transfer, via PayPal, or invoices can be sent via PayPal - this does not require the client to have a PayPal account and is often a good option for distant clients (small surcharge may apply).
Quality control & proofing:
While every effort is made to ensure all work is completely correct and produced according to the client’s brief, including checking spelling, the client is ultimately responsible for all final proofing & checking (telephone numbers, addresses etc). No responsibility can be taken for work subsequently submitted for advertising or printing purposes etc and any loss of money this could incur as a result.
Language, spelling & units:
British English spelling is used by default, but other variations like American English, Microsoft English or any regional variations can be used if specified. Work can also be produced in other languages, but clients will be responsible for providing and checking text. A translation service for Spanish is available. Units of measurement are normally metric, but imperial (feet, inches etc) can also be used if requested.
Copyright issues:
It will be assumed that clients providing material for use such as photos and images have the proper copyright permissions or have made arrangements or payments for the rights to use those images. No responsibility can be taken for clients who provide images they do not have permission to use, or any legal action taken against them. Work will be discontinued if any client is found to be knowingly using material in breach of copyright. A selection of royalty free stock images (or licensed images) can be purchased from various outlets, or custom photography taken.
Time & work hours:
While every effort is made to complete work as quickly as possible and meet deadlines, some delays might be unavoidable due to factors such as volume of work and bad planning by clients. When workload is at maximum clients will be allocated an equal share of work time. Just stating that a job is “urgent” is no guarantee that it can be done immediately. If workload is at maximum new clients might have to wait until time is available. Work and contact with clients takes place during normal (European) weekday working hours. Jobs submitted on Friday evening (for example) will be reviewed on Monday morning.
Termination of accounts:
Good regular clients are valued. Every effort is made to see their work is carried out as diligently and professionally as possible and they are not “let down” at any time, but please note a client’s account can be terminated due to such factors as non-payment, illegal activity, abusive or unreasonable behaviour etc. If a client’s account is terminated all previous work that has been paid for is available on disk. If a client’s account is in danger of being terminated they will receive at least one warning beforehand.
Backup copies:
Backup copies of clients work are kept and work that has been paid for is available on disk if required. However the applications that created some documents might be required to open them.
